WebArchive Cards is designed with privacy in mind. We collect no personal information whatsoever.

Data Stored Locally

The extension stores the following data locally in your browser using IndexedDB:

• Saved web page content: Title, URL, extracted text content, and metadata of pages you choose to save
• Tags: Tags you create or that are automatically generated
• Preferences: Your settings such as theme preference and view mode

Data We Do NOT Collect

• Personal identification information
• Browsing history
• Cookies or tracking data
• Usage analytics
• Account information

2. How We Use Your Data

All data stored by WebArchive Cards is used solely for the extension's core functionality:

• Displaying your saved cards
• Enabling search and filtering
• Providing tag suggestions
• Maintaining your preferences

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB, a built-in browser database. This means:

• Local only: Data never leaves your device
• No servers: We do not operate any servers that store your data
• No accounts: No registration or login is required
• Browser isolation: Data is isolated to your browser profile

4. Data Sharing

We do not share any data with third parties because we do not have access to your data in the first place. Your data remains entirely under your control.

5. Data Export and Deletion

You have full control over your data:

• Export: You can export all your saved cards as a JSON file at any time
• Delete: You can delete individual cards or clear all data
• Uninstall: Uninstalling the extension will remove all stored data

6. Permissions Explained

WebArchive Cards requests the following permissions:

• activeTab: Required to extract content from the current page when you click save
• storage: Used to store your preferences (theme, view mode)
• sidePanel: Required to display the card management panel
• scripting: Used to inject the content extraction script
• contextMenus: Adds right-click menu options for saving pages
• notifications: Shows save confirmation notifications
• bookmarks: Optional - only used if you choose to import Chrome bookmarks

7. Children's Privacy

WebArchive Cards does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The extension is designed for general audiences and does not require any personal information.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
